RARE BLACK AND WHITE LITHOGRAPHIC PROOF from John J. Audubon's THE VIVIPAROUS QUADRUPEDS OF NORTH AMERICA, 1845-48.  (Plate and group numbers written in pencil in writing style of period.)  Plate 81 - Worm-wood Hare, dated 1846, Drawn from nature by John J. Audubon, Lithographed, Printed and Colored by J. T. Bowen, Phila.  These prints were issued by Audubon at 22 x 28 inches and sometimes trimmed when bound in books.  This print measures 23 x 29 inches with irregular and some margin discoloration.  This work bound for the collector's file or to a library or museum.  $4,500

PLATE 4 - GREAT CROW BLACKBIRD (Male and Female) - First Audubon image ever published, Alexander Wilson, octavo edition, 1823, hand-colored copper plate engraving.  Drawn by Audubon and A. Rider, engraved by W. H. Lizars.  $150

ORIGINAL ART - Hand-colored original watercolor by Todd Telander, noted wildlife artist, of Ivory-bill Woodpecker, life-size, 18 x 22 inches, framed.  This art work used to decorate stamps issued by the American Bird Conservatory. Sheet of stamps accompanies painting.  $1,250  SOLD

TWO EARLY AMERICAN NEWSPAPERS with articles on Audubon, The New Yorker, March 3, 1838, reprinted an article from the Boston Morning Post, and Gleason's Pictorial Boston, dated may 6, 1854, front page article and lithograph of likeness of Audubon, commemorating his birth.  $125

KARL BODMER - A Skin Lodge of an Assinboin Chief.  Hand-colored copper plate engraving from Travels in the Interior of North America 1839-43, 8 x 11 inches, repaired tear, framed to museum standards.  $250 

RESTRIKE OF AUDUBON PLATE 64, SWAMP SPARROW - In 1968 the New York Botanical Garden issued two restrikes, the Swamp Sparrow and Plate 194, Hudson Bay Titmouse.  Only 300 copies of each image were issued.  They measure 23 x 30 inches and have a deep plate mark from the original copper plate.  Hand colored, French mat, ready to frame.  A scarce collector's item.  $375

AUTOGRAPH LETTER from Maria Rebecca Audubon, John J. Audubon's granddaughter and daughter of John W. Audubon, 3 pages ALS, to Witmer Stone, noted ornithologist and editor of THE AUK, discussing the whereabouts of the stone lithographs used to produce Audubon's Royal Octavo Edition of The Birds of America.  Dated December 4, 1897.  Letter stamped with Audubon's turkey seal. SOLD
